The IDOCDE symposium and residency series is dedicated to the artistic and pedagogic practices of contemporary dance. Past editions have focused on artistic documentation, collaborative processes, and their political and educational implications. This year IDOCDE symposium is imagined as a celebration of everything, including loss + love, that has helped us continue practicing dancing since the onset of the global pandemic.

9th Annual Symposium “per/mutation” is taking place live at the Arsenal July 31st and being streamed via Zoom. The second day will take place virtually around the world and on screen at the Arsenal on August 1st, 2021.

This year we are utilizing a live and virtual platform to present the unfolding understanding of global per/mutations that have been taking place over the past year in our collective field of dance, and how we are practically and tactically applying our knowledge to remain vitally creative.
