IDOCs » One stops when not in contact
The structure is simple. With a partner you decide who will "freeze" every moment you are not in physical contact with each other. The other one can continue to dance out of contact and can decide at any moment to come again in physical contact with the one that freezes. Then both can continue to dance in contact until the contact is again broken, either by choice, chance or accidentally.

Have worked with this score for many years in different formats and different variations. What it usually brings to the dancing is a deep personal involvement of both partners in a duet. It often brings playfulness and emotional involvement into the dancing. It could bring out strong emotions about power and hierarchy as some participants might feel that the one who has to freeze everytime when you stop to be in contact is in a submissive position to the other. Others feel the opposite, they feel rather empowered in the waiting position, knowing that their partner eventually will return to them. It is a format that works well for both beginners and more advanced students.
