IDOCs » The first Swiss LEAP Meeting January 2014
The first Swiss LEAP Meeting 18 of Jan. at Tanzhaus Zürich, 2 - 6 pm
We will first have some time for questions about IDOCDE and its LEAP activities, and how you can
become eligible for them. For the practical part, you are invited to bring questions about (your)
teaching, research ideas that orbit around dance teaching, or just things you always wanted to try out
with a peer group. We will be moving and discussing.
If you are just curious and have no specific question you would like to explore, you are welcome
too. This part of the meeting is an open format and will be facilitated by Kerstin Kussmaul & Andrea Boll who will
also bring some ideas just in case everyone else is just curious.
All contemporary dance teachers with a regular teaching practice are invited to join.
The LEAP Meeting is free of charge.
Please register: by emailing Andrea Boll (andrea.boll@idocde.net) until Friday 17th of Jan. 2014!

1st Swiss LEAP - meeting: 18 of January 2014 in Tanzhaus Zürich: introduction to the IDOCDE - website (the communication tool and exchange platform of LEAP), the LEAP project and practical exchange, guided by Kerstin Kussmaul (representative of Wiener Tanzwochen and project team member) and Andrea Boll (Swiss facilitator and project team member). We welcomed 18 participants (dance teachers and silent partner representative).
The participants were as well informed about the eligibility criteria’s and the possibilities of participating at the symposium 2014 and 2015 and the LEAP –activities TAB (teacher across borders) and TR (teacher residencies).
The practical exchange had two parts:
1) a warm-up based on 101 games http://www.idocde.net/idocs/452
2) and a sharing of teaching one exercise after an other, constantly changing the teacher. Teacher waited in front of the door, came in not knowing what was done before and was immediately proposing the next exercise.
Please see the video documentation of the practical exchange.
In the end of the meeting the participants reflected on the afternoon and the suggestion was made to regular organize offline exchange between two or several teachers by visiting and feed backing each others classes.
After this LEAP-meeting until mid June 2014, nine dance teachers set up a profile on the IDOCDE website and became active members. Nine Swiss based dance teachers will travel to the 2nd IDOCDE symposium 2014 in Vienna during ImPulsTanz.
The invitation was done by email to the dance-teacher mailing list and a Newsletter of Tanzhaus Zürich and through personal emails and phone calls form the facilitator directly to dance teachers.
