FOCUS: partnering contact improvisation, salsa, all kind of couple dancing
CONSLA© is a dance style on the half way between couple dances and contemporary dancing. It is an improvised partnering dance with a leader and a follower. These roles are given up time to time for contact improvisation, where there's no clear leader or follower. The participants get particular communication tasks how to understand when and which dance style's rules are used (salsa or contact improvisation), and the partnering becomes a constantly alternating, free flowy dancing, using the space absolutly open. (vertical and horisontal – which is more typical in couple dances - as well). Beside the partnering, the keys are the strong connection with the music (any kind of music or noise) and body isolations.
CONSLA is a fusion of contact improvisation, contemporary dance and salsa (or any kind of couple dance) It is a constantly developing dance style established by Dorottya Ujszaszi in 2010, till now it was taught, developed and performed for amateur and professional salsa dancers. A few contemporary dancers were helping the process. Recently the focus is to share it with contemporary dancers.
The trick is: to be scene enough interesting it needs good or high level in both dance stlyes.
I've been developing the method of teaching different dance styles (salsa, contemporary dancing and contact improvisation) the most effective way for different skilled dancers, and since I've been working a lot in both fields I got to know which skills needs to be developed to get to the same page.
Till now I tried to work together with the different backround and education level dancers. I found it more effective to work separately with the two different targeted groups, aming for being able to dance together soon.
Main focus is on the partnering, but recenlty the research started to open towards of solo vocabulary too. Consla solo moves appers partly in 3art3 Company's Untold piece. Choreographed by Quan Bui Ngoc (Les Ballet C de la B) performed at Tanzhaus Zurich
