IDOCs » Photo Improvisation - an investigation of basic connections
This is something you can approach as a group. One can be the photographer, one can be in front of the lens and one or more can witness the process from the sideline. You don't need to have any experience as a photographer. The photos below were shot by a professional photographer, but the principal is just the same. It is about being in a room, a place, that connects you to your body and evoke your imagination. It can even be to your advantage, not only because you look at things in a new way not confined by predefined perceptions or even rules, but most importantly being a mover can provide extraordinarily strong images, as you intuitively understand what is going on in front of the lens.
This is a very good way to understand the process of working with a location, a story and yourself, but also a mean of researching for a story, try out a new theory etc. It is connected to collective research and how you can work with bodily felt information being in front of the camera, then behind it, then witnessing the action nearby. You can use yourself, your eyes and others, as a way of finding out what interests you.
