(RE)FLEXIONS - Embodiment, dancing, sharing structure

Introduction

This year we are newly introducing in the teachers meeting “(RE)FLEXIONS”, taking into
consideration the received feedback of the previous TM and our wish to risk trying it out.

(RE)FLEXIONS are thought to involve a static or moving listener and to be followed by
a personal research dance activity within a group.
We, organizers invite a former teacher to share 20min (RE)FLEXIONS about what is questioning,
convening, moving them in their practice. Giving us the possibility to be moved with/by it.
Alice Godfroy (FR) will do a read of a personal reflexive/poetic proposition: “How does this practice questions me?”An open embodiment practice and a structured sharing will follow it.
By using the material produced, we will collectively map the research territories for the ReSoNaNcE LAB in the afternoon. This whole new proposal is made and thought by Daniela Schwartz ( festival co-organiser) and co-created in dialogue with Alice Godfroy and the TM facilitators.

Flow of the LAB (scores, exercises, discussions…):

Alice wrote a text in french and with the help of google and Bryce translated it into english.
Alice (french version) & Bryce (english version) read the text and invite us to choose how to listen. The possibility of moving while listening is share.

We have 45 mins for moving (no guidance) after the text.

Reflective writing - 10 mins: Take a significant moment from the morning and describe the moment in detail as much as you can.

We form 3 different sharing circles. The ones who want to share, read out this text to the circle.

Sharing structure: there are 3 types of cards to be used while listening. Each of us had:

  • 1 green card: silence (show it when you need a moment of silence)
  • 3 pink cards: emotion (throw into the circle when the moment is emotional for you)
  • 5 white cards: idea (write down any word/sentence/question/draw an image... and throw into the inside of the circle)

We read the white cards travelling around 3 islands/circles.

We move and co-construct a map of cards (groups of cards) in the space

Reflections Check List (discussions, writing, recording, drawings…):
